Quantum of Solace

I could have sworn that I'd already seen this film. However the more I thought about it the more I realized I couldn't remember anything about it. For a long time it's been the only Bond film which I've been missing from my DVD collection but last week I picked it up on Blu-ray and I watched it last night. A couple of parts felt oddly familiar but I'm now pretty sure I'd not actually seen it before. It was pretty good. I've been trying to decide how it compares to Casino Royale but can't really decide. They both have good points and bad points so it's quite even. In the end though I think Casino Royale comes out on top. There are two parts to a Bond film. There's the spy thriller and there's the action adventure, the mix between those is key. The earliest Bond films along with Casino Royale are heavy on the spy thriller side. Where as the Moore and Brosnan films are more action adventure and are enjoyable for different reasons. Quantum of Solace seems to have added more action adventure to the mix again but not quite enough so it feels like an odd mix.
